

COUNTY AMATEUR BOXING CLUB



Club Background
County Amateur Boxing Club (CABC) is a not-for-profit group that was establish by trust deed in 1968. CABC was initially set up as a boxing club and dedicates itself to the development of boxing skills and health and fitness for local young people and the wider community.
CABC is based in the London Borough of Waltham Forest at Leyton Youth Centre, Crawley Road, E10 6RJ.
Since its inception, has produced many outstanding male and female boxers including national champions and contenders. CABC is an affiliated member of England ABA and London ABA.
For the past 28 year CABC has been managed by head coach Jeff Clarke. He is supported by senior coach Fimbar Harper and assistant coaches, Jeff Clarke and Fimbar Harper are both certified ABA coaches and have sparred with and acquired training from a number of renowned trainers and boxers including Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn, Charlie Magri, Maurice Hope, Mo Hassan, Kirkland Laing, and Paul Cook.
Club membership is open to competing boxers, and anyone interested in health and fitness, and the challenges of a rigorous workout. The coaching team is solid and is considered to be a powerhouse in the local community and is proud of the fact that CABC is a Community Club providing opportunities for both male and female of all ages and abilities.
Services currently offered fall under four broad headings:

• A boxing, and health and fitness club which meets a variety of health and fitness needs presented by young people and the wider community
• A club that works with schools to support young people at risk of exclusion, to develop skills and interest, self-control and discipline
• A club that hosts boxing tournaments and other community events
Club Vision
CABC vision is to improve and extend its activities and to continue to create opportunities for young people and marginalised groups to participate, develop potential and sustain their involvement and ability to excel in sport through amateur boxing, by offering fair and equitable opportunities for all involved that helps to strengthen them physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
